HOW CAN WE HELP?
Quick answers about outlier scores, searches, plans and your account.
Getting started
A research tool for YouTube creators. It finds videos that massively outperformed their own channel's normal views, so you can spot topics, titles and thumbnails that are proven to work — then turn them into ideas for your channel. PimpMyViews is a research tool. We never sell, generate or boost views, likes or subscribers.
Creators at any stage, from brand-new channels looking for proven ideas to growing channels trying to break a plateau, plus editors, managers and agencies researching for clients.
No. PimpMyViews uses public YouTube data, so you never need to connect or share access to your channel.
Create a free account, search any topic or pick a ready-made niche, and sort the results by outlier score. Save anything interesting to a board to come back to later.
Outlier scores
A video with at least 3X the median views of up to 30 recent uploads in the same format (Shorts or long-form), using fewer when available. Raw views alone do not tell you what beat a channel's own expectations.
We divide a video's views by the median views of up to 30 recent uploads in the same format (Shorts or long-form), using fewer when available. A score of 10X means ten times that channel's typical views for that format. When a median isn't available, we show views ÷ subscribers as a separate backup signal, if the subscriber count is available.
One viral video can drag an average way up and make everything else look weak. The median shows what a typical video on that channel really gets.
A score of 3X or more is the outlier/breakout threshold throughout PimpMyViews, including the free Outlier Checker and watchlist feed. Search results can also show videos below 3X; use the score filter to focus on breakouts.
Shorts and longer uploads get different view counts, even on the same channel. The channel median compares Shorts (estimated from videos up to 3 minutes; YouTube does not provide a direct Shorts flag) with Shorts and longer uploads with longer uploads. Search results also offer four duration filter buckets: Shorts, under 4 minutes, 4–20 minutes and 20+ minutes. Those four filters are not four separate scoring baselines.
Yes. Open the score breakdown on a result to see the video's views, the channel median and the maths, or the subscriber count when a median isn't available. Up to 10 recent same-format sample uploads appear when available.
No. An outlier shows that an idea, title or thumbnail worked for that channel, at that time. It's a strong signal worth learning from, not a promise of results.
Searching
YouTube returns up to 50 results per search, so try more specific keywords. Date, Shorts/long-form, language and region settings can narrow results; on-page view, channel-size, score and duration filters can hide matches too. Very new videos may not rank in YouTube search yet. Search results are cached for six hours, so recently published videos or changed view counts may take time to appear. A hidden subscriber count only removes the subscriber-based signal; it does not necessarily prevent a median score.
To keep searches fast and within YouTube's limits, we cache search results and video details for up to six hours (channel details for up to 24 hours). View counts can lag behind YouTube.
Pick a ready-made niche — like finance, gaming, fitness, tech, travel or football — to load results we refresh every day. Preset results (last 30 days, long-form, any language or country) load instantly and are unlimited on every plan. Change the filters or type any topic to run your own fresh search.
Yes. Choose a language or country/region before searching. YouTube uses those settings to shape results, and we also filter videos by detected language when you choose one. A region setting is not a guarantee that every result was filmed there.
For each ready-made niche we keep a reviewed list of channels and scan their latest uploads every day. When you search within a niche, matching videos from those channels come first and are free — they never count towards your limit. A fresh YouTube search only runs (and counts) when tracked channels don't have enough matches or you pick a country filter.
Only fresh searches count. Re-opening your saved searches, loading ready-made niche presets, and any search served from the shared six-hour results cache are unlimited on every plan. Short-term request-rate protections still apply.
We share a daily YouTube data limit across all users. On busy days, fresh searches on the Free plan pause first, then background refreshes, and finally fresh searches for everyone. Saved searches, cached results and niche presets keep working, and the limit resets daily (midnight Pacific time).
Tools
Boards let you save breakout videos, titles and hooks. Add notes and tags, view items as a list, thumbnail wall or kanban board, and move ideas from Idea to Published.
Upload a thumbnail and provide your video topic. AI compares it with reference thumbnails for your topic when available, or with general best practice otherwise. You get an overall score, criteria covering text, colour, face or emotion, composition, clutter and reference comparisons, plus strengths and suggested fixes. If scoring fails after a retry, you'll be asked to try again.
It creates title and opening-hook ideas based on your topic and, when provided, an outlier video, adapted to your channel. Treat them as starting points and make them your own.
It takes a saved video's idea into the title and hook generator so you can develop your own angle for your channel.
Creator and above can track channels in a daily-refreshed watchlist feed. Breakouts score at least 3X the median of up to 30 recent same-format uploads, using fewer when available. The weekly watchlist digest is opt-in on every plan and sends only when you have saved new breakouts; it is not a daily niche-alert service.
